Against all odds and shrinking ratings, geeks rejoice yet again as Fringe gets renewed!

Fox has officially announced that it has renewed Fringe for a 13 episode fifth and final season.  The show will hit the magic 100 episode number in the final season which many consider a great plus for syndication.

Creators of the show earlier told us that they filmed two entire episodes for the season finale.  One to end the season and transition in to a final season, and a second that ends the show completely. The ratings for the show have been sliding and cause for concern to many Fringe fans, myself included.  This renewal comes as a very pleasant surprise and I couldn't be happier.

The fourth season finale is set to air May 11th on Fox.

I'm a sucker for a police chase, and being a geek in LA I'm afforded with the pleasure of one quite often.  Today's chase is well, barely a chase.  It's more like watching a tow truck drive home in rush hour traffic.  The only thing out of the ordinary is the dozen or so police cars following behind.

As slow moving as it is, I haven't been able to take my eyes off it.

Highlights so far: He swerves to avoid a spike strip, random pedestrians keep talking to him, a girl runs up to the passenger window and has a conversation while he's at a red light.

Tune in to just about any LA based channel to watch this action, or lack of action, live!

Gina Carano, former MMA star turned actress, most recently known for her starring role in Haywire, is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Fast Six.  Carono received great reviews for her acting debut in Haywire which also starred big names such as Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Michael Douglas, and Ewan McGregor.

Word is Carano will be part of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s team.  Her place on the team could be the perfect setup to throw Carano right at the imminent return of Michelle Rodriguez.  What a fight scene that will be!

Casting news for Fast Six continues to come each week.  Just recently we learned that Jason Statham was not going to be joining the franchise despite rumors of joining the casts of Fast Six and Seven.

Fast Six is scheduled for a May 2013 release.

Is anyone else excited for Veep which premieres this Sunday?  The trailers I’ve seen (one embedded at the end of this post) show a lot of promise for where they can take a show like this.  The show follows Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Seinfeld) who is our Vice President.

One can only imagine how much of the comedy is true.  After all, no one in politics aspires to be the Vice President.  Do you think Veeps get excited when they find out the President is ill?  Do they get excited like a puppy on the rare occasion the President calls them?
